The Atlantis Demo 2000 test unit is taking shape

The Atlantis Demo 2000 test unit is now taking shape at Nymo yard in Grimstad, Norway.

The pictures show the eight compartments with bulkhead and some of the skin plates, 7.2 metres high and 16 metres in diameter.

In operation the compartments will contain water with an air pillow on top. The air is supplied from the rig and the water flows through openings in the bottom of the Atlantis unit.

The air pillows will provide the necessary buoyancy at any stage of the operation..
