The First Well

The development process of the Atlantis Concept has for long time been waiting for the use on the first well. This has now come to reality by the agreement with China Oilfield Services Limited.

The first well is planned to be drilled and the Atlantis Unit installed, in 3rd quarter of 2007 in the South China Sea. The location is shown on the enclosed map as being east of the Haian island.

The water depth for the first well is 500 meters. The campaign program will include several simulations regarding rig and Atlantis interface like for instance anchor line failure to see how the ABS follow the rig motions.

It is the first well for the Atlantis Concept, but there is no operation in this program which either has been made before by Atlantis Deepwater Technology Holding AS with large success, or there are operations that are normal every day in the offshore industry.
